USISSL Week 7 League Table

For purposes of this table, Week 7 ended last weekend and does not include tonight's New England v San Jose MLS match. California's lead at the top of the USISSL League Table continues to widen. Texas and Ohio remain in 2nd and 3rd, respectively. But this week New York vaulted over New Jersey into 4th.

Last week's USISSL history-maker, Florida, remains in 6th position and even gained ground on 5th place New Jersey. But short-handed Florida is now joined by fellow short-handers Georgia, North Carolina, and Arizona above full-strength Pennsylvania, who tumbled down to 10th place. North Carolina's move up the table is particularly noteworthy due to the team being able to field only 7 players--the minimum allowable under FIFA's Laws of the Game.

Massachusetts was unable to make the same charge up the table as these other teams, while Washington and Minnesota continue to occupy the league's basement.

All in all, an intriguing week for the USISSL. Still no new teams to add, although Missouri now has 8 players but still too few field players to join the league. However, St. Louis now has 5 players in MLS.

The USISSL League Table is a couple of days late this week, but the good news is that the delay is due to me being able to put my fledgling R skills to good use in the real world. Being able to use R to help others visualize data in new ways felt great. Long may it continue.
